lyrics

i'd been in bloomington for four years
and the dust had settled a bit too much around me
so i drove my body out to seattle and i drove the coast
i lived my life out on the highway
the pavement path to what i needed most
i didn't find it in fort bragg,
but for a minute there i thought i had
i didn't find it in san luis obispo
but if i hadn't looked, how would i know?

i just go
just go

i've climbed the mountains
and seen the cities from the hills
i've held on tightly to the good things in my life
and the good nights, especially the good nights
i've been all over and not yet found
a place to call my home
when the justice comes to find my smiling face
it'll miss me by a minute as i drive away
it won't find me in oklahoma
even if that's home to me
and it won't find me in california
i've got nowhere i'm supposed to be
